Yumeria is one of those delightful anime titles that blends comedy, romance, and action seamlessly to make an enjoyable and highly entertaining viewing experience. The story is a simple and very bizarre one. Tomokazu, an ordinary lad, has a dream like no other on the eve of his 16th birthday. In it he's in the Dream World which is under attack by enemies who wish to overtake the Real World. Who can stop it? Why, a gaggle of beautiful women of course. He meets one in his dream during a fight. However, when he wakes the next day the young woman is still there and in his bed! And that's just the beginning of the shenanigans that ensue as Tomokazu gains a bevy of young women wanting to join up with him in the Dream World and out of it. Can he maintain his sanity as he deals with feminine wiles on one side and a plot to destroy mankind on the other? Watch Yumeria volume 1 to find out. This new anime is filled with fun. Tomokazu is a kind guy despite his occasionally perverted tendencies and subtle sarcasm at the face of all theses beautiful women crowding him all of a sudden. And the group of young women are an array of the types you generally see in harem style comedic animes like this one. You have Tomokazu's older cousin Nanase, who has been taking care of him since his parents passed away years ago. She's an intriguing blend of mothering kindness and teasing humor. Her younger sister Kuyou is nearly the opposite; she's demanding and hot tempered and has the pride to match. Then there's the sweet girl next door Mizuki who's always there to help Tomokazu. To add to the mix is the mysterious girl Neneko who keeps appearing in both worlds and has an energetic and obstinate personality. The first female he meets in the Dream World and the one who lends to some of the more humorous situations is Mone, a girl who only says the word 'mone' and yet everyone seems to be able to understand her perfectly except poor, bewildered Tomokazu. A special brava should go to English voice actress Brittney Karbowsky who does a masterful job of inferring such a wide range of meaningful intonations to just one word, "mone". Last but not least of our host of characters is the mysterious Silk, a woman fighting the enemy in the Dream World. She seems to know a lot about what is going on but just who is she really?
