Samurai Champloo Vol. 4 and Tokyo Underground Vol. 4 Anime DVD Reviews - Page 2© Holly Ellingwood
In this volume, our separated heroes must face an all new set of enemies as Pairon sets his own special op forces after them. These assassins are previously death row inmates who are as ruthless and merciless as Pairon himself. The last episode ends with a climatic confrontation between Pairon and Rumina with one of them fatally wounded! We also get to see more interesting powers such as Sound, Smoke, and Shadow. Even though this anime series isn't rich in plot and character development, it is sound for the formula action genre. It doesn't leave me bored and wanting to press the fast forward button. In fact, with each new volume I become more taken with the show. Decent anime and an interesting quality earns Tokyo Underground a 7.5/10 kendo swords ranking.
Rating: This series is rated 13 and up for mild violence and intense moments. Release Information: Tokyo Underground Volume 4 (of 6) 'Assailants', containing episodes 15 to 18, is available now. Each volume comes with a limited edition transparent pencil board while supplies last.
