The Importance Of Rain - Verse 17 & 18


Should the water dry up and there be no rain, worship here of the Gods and daily rites would wither.


Verse (17)
Nedungadalum Thanneermai kundrum Thadindhu yezhili Thaan Nalghadhu aahi vidin
Explanation:
The clouds take water from the vast oceans and return the gift called rain. Had it not been for the clouds the oceans would have become dull from its growth.
The poet tells us about the role of the ocean and clouds in bestowing the gift of rain on mankind.


Verse (18)
Sirappodu Poosanai selladhu vanam varakkumel Vaknowrkkum yeendu
Explanation:
If the rains fail than the worship of the Gods and daily rituals would be hampered.
Water is essential ever to pray to the Gods in the heaven. Such is the importance of rain.

The rain not only fuels life but also is essential during worship of the Gods daily and on festivals.
