In praise of GOD - Verse 9 & 10

In the following verses, Saint Tiruvalluvar suggests that the sole purpose of life is to take refuge at the feet of God and ultimately become one with HIM.

Verse (9)
Kolil Poriyil Ghunamilaveh Enghunatthan Thalai Vanangha Thalai
Explanation:
The heads that cannot bow down at the feet of the Creator (the infinite one who possesses eight gunas/powers) are like the sense organs which cannot perceive.
The saint talks about the people who do not possess the humility to surrender at the feet of God. He compares the life of such people to the sense organs that cannot perceive. What good is an ear that cannot listen to the sounds? What good are the eyes which cannot see? What good is the life that cannot bow at the feet of God?

Verse (10)
Piravi Perungadal Neendhuvar Neendhar Eraivanadi Cherahdhar
Explanation:
It is impossible to cross the vast ocean of births without the grace of the Almighty.
The Saint affirms that the life of a man does not end with the perishing of his body. The soul takes on different physical bodies. It has to cross the vast ocean of births before it merges and becomes an union with the Creator.

With this verse Saint Tiruvalluvar concludes his rendering to the Almighty God. Before moving on to human nature and morals, he offers his thanks and appreciation to the RAIN. The next ten verses deal with the gift of life that rain offers to the humanity.
