Explanation:
The people who take refuge at the feet of the Almighty are free from agony and mental distress
Selfless surrender to the Lord can help the masses to be free from anguish and mental distress. Devotion dispels ignorance which is the root cause of distress.

Aravazhi Andhanan Thal cherndharkallal
Piravazhi Neendhal Aridhu
Explanation:
Only those who take refuge at the feet of the Almighty, who himself is an ocean of virtue - can cross the ocean of their lives.
The Saint refers to GOD as an ocean of virtue. The life of a man is compared to the ocean. Sailing to the other side could be turbulent or smooth. The people who immerse themselves in devotion of the Creator, cross the ocean of their lives effortlessly without any anguish.
Saint Tiruvalluvar suggests that devotion is a cure to mental distress and that one can cross the ocean of life effortlessly.
