Expecting

feature list is due to be posted sometime soon. The list will provide more information on functionality that has been implemented and tested so should offer an accurate guide in the run up to launch. My sources inform me that localisation is pretty much complete, the 680X0 emulation is undergoing final testing, the beta-testing programme has been very successful so far and also that there are some additional firmware tweaks for a variety of CPUS including 750FX, 7441, 7451, and even dual 7410 configurations. Yes, I noticed the dual configuration too. I just hope that wasn't told me in confidence...

I feel it's unlikely we will see OS 4 released to coincide with the first shipments of the AmigaOne XE, though I would certainly expect it to be launched pretty soon afterwards. While most Amiga users are itching to take a look, I know I am, many would agree the wait is justified if it ensures a solid release version.

Here's wishing Hyperion a swift and successful launch, and everyone in the Amiga community a happy and prosperous New Year.
