Microsoft.

Like 'em or loathe 'em, they're big. Really big. If you want to be taken seriously in the world of technology, you need them on your side and best of all they need the DE badly because it's exactly what they've wanted to do for a long time. Amiga Inc. have played their cards well and established themselves well in advance of the others. They've had it tough, but the worst definitely seems to be over now and this deal puts them in a very, very strong position. That position is good for Amiga, it's good for AmigaOS and AmigaDE, it's good for Amiga developers everywhere and above all it's good for the Amiga community - be they the present or the future.

I know sometimes I come across like the eternal optimist, but what I saw at the WOA has confirmed everything for me. Amiga is most definitely back.

My thanks to: Mikey C, Andrew Korn, Neil Bothwick, all the guys at SEAL, Fleecy Moss and everyone else I met at the show who I've promptly forgotten the names of. Well, it's very late as I write this and you all know who you are. Cheers guys!

Apologies to: Cloanto, Forematt, Kicksoft, Weird Science, Zeoneo, all the mags (100% Amiga, The Crypt and Total Amiga), user groups and other exhibitors that time and space prevented me from covering. Excellent work from everyone involved.
