May Updatecomplementary when you think about it. Amiga software developers would be wise to, hardware permitting, investigate supporting these multiple platforms. The fact they share a fairly common API provides a strong added incentive and reasonably low point of entry. Also, with each system exploring new avenues, there's some encouragement to the others to avoid stagnating - not that any look like they'll go that way in the near future. Maybe I'm too much of an idealist but I can't help but want people to work together as well as compete - "coopetition" is the phrase I believe. Parts of AROS have already made it into AmigaOS 3.9, for example, and MorphOS and AROS are also in contact to ensure API compatibility which is great to see. So yeah, not a bad situation it seems. More of the hardware coverage is slotting into place, AmigaOS development will continue and make the transition to the PowerPC, Amiga Inc. are setting clearer direction and leadership, we've seen more high-profile partners and it actually looks like we'll have a much-anticipated next generation PowerPC Amiga available this summer.
