How I Ended Up On America's Most Wanted

It’s a few weeks later now, and I still feel shocked and stunned. It doesn’t seem real now, no matter how many times the footage runs on the news. My life is dramatically different now. Everyone’s is. I survived this thing, and I know I almost didn’t. It’s hard to live your life in the shadow of something so big. I feel like I was a baby before and that I have been born into a cold world of big, bad things. I want to go back to the warmth and safety that I once felt, but I’m afraid it is lost. But I will move on from this, because one really has to. One has to move on from bad things, because as my father is so fond of saying, “it beats the alternative.”
