Have you ever dreaded going to school because a classmate calls you names and picks on you day after day? Has another kid threatened to hit you if you don't give him or her your lunch money? Or maybe you have a friend who is being teased or threatened? These are examples of bullying. Bullying is not harmless fun. Bullying makes you feel bad. Bullying is wrong.

It's not always easy to figure out the best way to deal with a bully. Bullying is a serious problem. That is why I am writing this extra article not related to astronomy. I want to tell you about a course that I took recently. The course is called Bullying: What is it and How to Cope, written by Mary Alward. Although I am an adult, I learned a lot of tips that I wish I had known when I was growing up.

This course is written for children aged eight to twelve. It is clear and easy to understand. You will learn to recognize bullying and bullies. You will learn how to avoid being bullied. If you are being bullied now, you will learn the skills you need to stop the bullying. You will see that you are not alone and you are not helpless. You will learn that some of the many people who were bullied as children are famous people now.

There are four lessons. Each lesson is followed by an easy test that is designed to reinforce the lessons you have just learned. Here is a listing of the lessons and topics covered within each lesson:
