Mae's determination to accomplish her goals regardless of what others think is an inspiration. She does all she can to encourage young people to develop their talents and skills and not to be afraid to pursue a career in science. She encourages all of us to use our skills and talents to take care of our planet and everyone who lives on it.

Astronomical Tidbit:
Among the most recent group of astronaut candidates at NASA is Joseph Acaba -Mission Specialist-Educator. He was a 7th and 8th grade science and math teacher in Florida before joining NASA. He, like Dr. Mae Jemison, also served in the Peace Corps!

I like the fact that on top of her space achievements, she started that company and science camp. Not only did she have an eye for her future, but for that of others. Very commendable lady. Great 2-pa ...
