Amateur Astronomy Reduces Stress!
You feel like the Energizer Bunny, always in motion, except that the batteries are running down. A little bit of quiet time soaring through space inside your imagination can recharge those stressed batteries. Step outside or turn off the lights in your room and open the shades. Get comfortable by the window or sit on the back steps and gaze at the night sky. Imagine flying across that vast twinkling, universe. Your spaceship takes you past the moon and you look back at that beautiful blue marble-like planet we call Earth. Your spaceship whizzes through space so rapidly that soon you're getting a look at our rocky, red neighbor Mars and its two wild, wacky moons, Deimos and Phobos. Did you ever imagine moons would be shaped so strangely? Even at the incredible speed you are traveling, it will be a while before you reach Jupiter. It's a good time for a snack. No, no, don't rip open that bag of M&Ms! Too late. Quick, gather up those colorful bits of floating candies before they drift away. Better yet, vacuum them with your mouth. This is one vacuuming chore that is definitely better in space. Being a gymnast in space is a lot easier - slower, but easier. Go ahead, do a back flip, try to walk on the ceiling or just float around the cabin. Ah, weightlessness - there's nothing like it. You've been so busy playing in space, you almost missed Jupiter. It's huge. Wow. You really could fit three Earths inside the Great Red Spot. Hmm, the Great Red Spot does look like a giant hurricane with its swirling clouds. This is awesome. Hold on. What's that sound? It seems as if it is coming from far, far away. Mom? Oh, oh, planet Earth is calling - time for dinner. Better get moving. But there is so much more to see! Don't worry, it will all be there waiting for you any time you need to recharge those stressed batteries. Just look up at the night sky and let your imagination soar.
