The SDSS makes use of a 2.5-meter telescope at the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico. For more on this scope, go to http://www.sdss.org/background/telescope... Here are two nice SDSS images. NGC 6070 is a galaxy in the constellation Serpens that lies 100 million light-years away from us. The blue spots are regions of newly formed stars. M78 is part of the great nebula in Orion.
