state. I asked him the same question as I asked Anne. He responded, "I am at my wit's end. I can't work, I receive little help, she is a burden, I just don't know what else I can do."

As you can see, both situations are different. Is there anything these caregivers can do? The answer is yes. I firmly believe that a strong support system will make a difference. If it is difficult to receive support inside of your family, then look outside of your family. There are numerous of agencies that provide assistance to caregivers of Alzheimer patients. They are often known as respite services. I highly recommend support groups. Caregivers learn through the experiences of other caregivers.

Don't be hard on yourself when things seem down. You are doing the best that you can. Just take things day-by-day. It is only natural for one day to be better than another day. Tomorrow is always a new day.
