At first my grandfather believed that his wife had been drinking. He continually checked the liquor bottles. But in truth, my grandmother was displaying warning signs of Alzheimer's disease. Denial is common in the early stages. Nobody wants to admit that there may be a problem. Excuses are made to cover up the increasing reality of what may be happening.
These 10 warning signs are a helpful guideline to realize that a loved one may be in need of medical attention. Although no cure is available now, catching the disease in the early stages may increase the life span of the afflicted individual and give physicians and caretakers the knowledge to formulate an appropriate plan of care.
