Alzheimer's and the Baby BoomersIf care-givers don't take care of themselves, we'll have two patients in the end. We Baby Boomers don't want to get "old." We don't feel "old," or even look "old," but we must face facts. We are the fastest growing segment of the population, we have had fewer children to carry on after we are gone. It is left to us to care for our children, our parents, and even ourselves. We must guard against falling victim to every anti-aging product being hyped through the media and on the Internet in order to fight off the inevitable. As Baby Boomers, we are a marketing dream. There are products to keep us young-looking, products to make us sleep better, "cure" our arthritis and all those other nagging little problems we are being faced with daily. Alzheimer's disease and its cure or prevention is a hot topic because of the Baby Boomer generation. We have the money, the resources, and the desire to have someone or something come between us and devasting diseases of the aging. We are children of the "me" generation and as such, perhaps we can keep researchers and scientists busy on finding a "cure" for life. *Next Article: The Causes of Alzheimer's Disease
I have created a special gathering place for caregivers, friends, family, and sufferers of Alzheimer's. It's called the Alzheimer's Disease Support Board and can be reached by clicking HERE. It's a safe haven to let off steam, ask questions, find a friend, or learn more about Alzheimer's. It was created for those who wish to remain anonymous, or don't wish to become a member here at Suite101.com. This service is free, requires no membership, and is provided by this Suite101.com editor.
