Many bands quickly fall from greatness after a successful album or two.
For example, Pearl Jam put out two phenomenal albums yet recently have
put out subpar work that can be attributed to their quick rise to fame. All
the while Live has been steadily putting out excellent albums. Their second
album "Throwing Copper" keyed their success but their debut album "Mental
Jewelry" is as good if not better then "Throwing Copper" and now, with their
third release "Secret Samadhi" they've done it again. They really are
ALive and kicking, and will be for quite sometime. "Secret Samadhi" is
slightly more twisted then previous releases but allows you to see yet
another side of Live while at the same time they stay close enough to their
standard that you just can't get enough.
It's time to consider these guys as "the" band, not Pearl Jam, not Nirvana, not Smashing Pumpkins but Live. Creative, intelligent, thought provoking, emotional, and energetic make up the qualities of Live. As I said earlier it's time they received their due. They are a rare commodity in the music industry a Rock'n Roll band that hasn't let success go to their heads and ruin their music. Undoubtedly ALive and kicking. Go To Page: 1
