I mentioned these guys in regards to the Canadian Invasion and now I'd
like to honor them as the i5ive Band of the Month. I was first introduced
to the songs of Barenaked Ladies as local musician Troy Middleton covered
their track "Good Boy" off their album Gordan. And it was quite an
experience even when just being covered, and I guarantee when performed by the
Barenaked Ladies themselves it would be that much better. To me,
this track must be one of the most positive, upbeat, tracks written in
ages. It is ideal for a small informal venue where you can sit back
relax and enjoy the music. Although they have had multi-platinum
Canadian album sales they haven't experienced the same level of US sales
or popularity. But be assured the Barenaked Ladies are talented enough
and will soon be heard and seen throughout the US. The Barenaked Ladies
are widely known in Canada as one of the premier live experiences the
music industry has to offer. So if they come through your town don't
miss them, because you're really missing out. If you don't have a
chance to see them live you now have another option, you can pickup their
live album "Rock Spectacle." Besides, how can you not like Barenaked
Ladies?
