DiversityWell I'm a day late with my article because I was in the process of moving, and in fact have a lot of work to get done still. But something I noticed as I drove east down I-80 was the lack of good radio diversity. You'd think in Iowa the problem would be too much Country music but think again. The problem is too much Rawk music! It's amazing to think that at any given time you can spin the dial and hear AC/DC, Van Halen, Boston and Trixter! Despite growing up a big Rawk fan by listening to the 103.5 the Blaze everyday a bit of diversity is good. It's almost a surreal experience to spin the dial and not hear any songs written in the 90's let alone a song featuring a female lead. Take a day and just listen to Rawk (insert any one type of music) and you'll be looking for something, anything that's a bit different real fast. Hopefully you're lucky enough to realize the benefit of a variety of music. I'm currently listening to Sarah McLachlan, Smashing Pumpkins, Everclear, Tori Amos, the Gufs and Frank Black and enjoy the varying styles. So to wrap up, dive into a variety of musical styles because too little diversity is boring.
