Every old record I own is either warped beyond belief or is scratched.
Lucky for me the Scratchie Records I enjoy is a record label out of Chicago
that releases on CD. Fulflej and Chainsaw Kittens are just a couple
of acts that Scratchie will be pushing in the near future. If you
haven't heard of them, you will. Why? First, good music! Secondly
Scratchie Records has a great supporting cast with half of Smashing Pumpkins
on board. D'Arcy and James Iha. are working in the trenches and making
appearances
to support their acts. So with some bigtime players, and some talent be
prepared to hear Fulflej, Fountains of Wayne, and Chainsaw Kittens on a
radio station near you soon.
Unlike many labels such as Fat Wreck Chords and Look Out, Scratchie doesn't appear to be heading towards one sound or another. Their lineup is as diverse as any in the music industry. So head on down to your local cd store, no not Musicland, and pickup something by the folks at Scratchie. You're assured of no warps or scratches on your cd, just good fun music.
