In the music industry they're always looking to find the next hotbed of music. For example, we all remember the neverending hype surrounding the "grunge" scene in Seattle. Well, recently you might of heard a bit of buzz revolving around the Chapel Hill scene. First, yes, it does mean Chapel Hill, N.C. And more specifically, it actually refers to the triangle connected by Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Labels like Mammoth Records picked up on this buzz and signed a few acts from this area. To familiarize you with the area, here are a few bands from it you may recognize: Archers of Loaf, Ben Folds Five, Corrosion of Conformity, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Superchunk. And with the recent success of the Squirrel Nut Zippers and Superchunk, who's the next band out of this area to hit it big? Well that's to be determined.
