Every year around this time thousands of college students pack up and hit the road heading back to college. And for me the biggest problem has always been the lack of good music throughout large sections of the trip. So to solve this I created tapes of up tempo music to keep my spirits rock'n. Here's a few tracks to get you started on your road trip and my reasons why they should make your tape.

Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien [a classic driving tune]

Eric Johnson - Cliffs Of Dover [yet another classic]

Haze - Tom Dooley (the noise mix) [kills any thoughts of napping]

Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod [intense]

Frank Black - Los Angeles [crazy fun]

Barenaked Ladies - What a Good Boy [this one is a sure pick me up]

Live - The Beauty Of Gray [now don't start speeding]

Pearl Jam - Porch [pure energy]

Hagfish - Happiness [nothing like some punk to keep you rolling]

Hagfish - Stamp [double do it!]

Nine Inch Nails - Terrible Lie [especially if you can find a live version]

Smashing Pumpkins - Today [hey it's now or never]

April's Motel Room - California [where better to hit the road to?]

Rush - The Trees [just so strange you have to hear it]
