Any guess as to what will fill the time slot? Well, clearly they'll run reruns for awhile but once that ends what's next? Dennis Rodman? Well, no, because actually I think he is Butthead so we'll rule him out. How about the Jenny McGarthy hour where all she's does is prance around in a bikini. Oh, wait they already have that, it's called Beach MTV. What is MTV to do; it's clear playing videos isn't going to happen so what will they do? The key is to remember MTV's target audience: music fans. Wrong! That's not their target audience. Horny teenage boys are their target audience. Ahh, then clearly they'll try to pickup Baywatch — there's the show for MTV. Baywatch has all the characteristics of an MTV program, ie., no plot and, most importantly, half naked women. Just think about their shows: "The Real World" where all the women are tens and the biggest problem is returning a lost dog; or "Singled Out," where they ask questions like "Breast Size" or "Package Size" — yes this is much closer related to horny teenage boys then MUSIC. So I reiterate: soon we'll see Baywatch or, better yet, Baywatch Nights on MTV as that's what fits their target audience. Don't hope for more videos; that is not going to happen. At least not until they "Fire! Fire!" their marketing department and hire some true music fans.
