Recently I took in a concert at a local establishment here in Iowa City and came away quite impressed with one of the acts on the bill, the Dingess. Oddly I was at the show to see Skavoovie & the Epitones but to me the Dingess really stole the show. Though to be fair it was a pretty good show throughout.
There were three acts with the Dingees taking the stage second. And quite frankly they blew me away. Energy, energy, energy! Wow did their mixture of Punk and Ska seem just right. Their lead singer, was simply amazing. I kept wondering what secret source of energy was he taping into? To me he was the highlight of the night as he had everything a frontman needed.
It seemed like a long way to come, California, but the Dingees came all the way to our town so I'd suggest if the Dingess come to your town, take the time to see them as unlike many a band out there today they put forth a significant effort. That's worth experiencing.
