Moshing Revisited

Well Lollapalooza has kicked off and it's time to tear the chairs out of the floor and mosh. Right?

Well apparently that's what the audience at Lollapalooza thought. As Korn began doing their thing the "fans" took it upon themselves to cause quite a bit of mayhem. Now I'm not really sure if they were showing their respect for Korn or acting out in pain, (it would cause me pain to see Korn) but regardless this, mayhem needs to end.

Because for no matter how much "fun" moshing may or may not be it is dangerous and detrimental. For those who don't believe any harm comes from moshing I'd suggest visiting the Stop Moshing website for more details but there are cases of deaths due to trampling and crushing that surely involved moshing and numerous cases of injuries due to moshing. For example, at a Metallica concert here in Iowa a man was taken away on a stretcher with a neck brace in place and this was just the results of the opening act. And more then once I've heard about NIN pits that included broken arms and lost teeth.

Yup it's just fun and games. As stated in my last moshing article is that what is lost in all this mayhem is the music. A show is about interaction with the band. Experiencing the music. Understanding the message. Having a good time. Not who can injury more people. So let's "enjoy the ride" together and end this moshing.

wow so much controversy. Moshing is an experience that can be exhilarating in the extreme. But I must admit when a band is on that I really want to enjoy I stand to the edge so I don't get surfed on. ...

Yes, it is right. Moshing is something stupid, and more stupid are the many "fans" that go to gigs just to beat, hit and brake some arms. This people do not apreciate the music and do not care what or ...
