Indie rock heroes, Pavement, return this month with their latest offering, "Terror Twilight". Pavement was at the core of the indie movement in the early 90's and just for a moment, they got their 15 minutes of fame. But to the mainstream it was fleeting. Some of us will never know why. In the early 90's their music was exactly what we were looking for and their live shows were intense. I guess it's possible they were a bit too creative for our commercialized-mock-indie minds at the time and probably still are. But I'd say give Pavement a listen and better yet take in a show as despite it being awhile my memories of Pavement live are very intense.
Despite this being a Matador release Pavement remains grounded in their indie roots and this album reflects that. Nothing here is clearly aimed at mainstream radio. Nothing here is afraid of creativity. Nothing here is afraid of taking shots. That's what made Pavement and that what is hardening this Pavement into some long lasting concrete. Go To Page: 1
