Replanting Spiloxene Alba

Spiloxene Alba is a welcomed, bright and breezy little South African bulb; which is becoming increasingly popular with gardeners in all walks of life.

They are best left undisturbed, where they can do their thing year in year out. In a cool climate, their needs are met by a sunny position in your garden; to open the flowers.

In warmer climates such as here in Southern Australia, they can do well in morning sun (only).

Spiloxene alba is an early Fall flowering bulb with me, though in cooler climates, like Southern Tasmania; they won't begin flowering until mid-winter or even later depending on whether the soil is frozen.

Each corm sends out white laterals, which in turn becomes a corm and flowers the following season.

If you have to dig them up in active growth, then when you receive them, stand the plant upright, and let the white laterals fall where they may and gently cover with soil and water once.
