This coming year we are going to talk over together many things. So, this is not a platform for the writer to lecture, this is a conversation between you and I. A conversation in which there is no implication of conversation, with justme making propaganda or inflating self, or a questioner doing likewise, this is not the tone sought. Together,we are going to if you will kindly converse, talk back;talk over our gardening problems as two friends. Though we don't know each other, we are going to talk, have a private conversation -discussion; which is more important than being lectured at or just being told what to do, with you blindly following, without the reason behind your deeds fully understood. Together, without a destination, dispassionately, impersonally, we will look to nature and other sources for answers to all the questions, as they arise. We are going to take a long complex journey together, for it is your responsibility, as well as mine, that we take the journey together. Openly investigate together, for all to see and join in. This week's preamble seems to be addressing that which I didn't know how to raise, that of the private emails asking for help by mostly the readers who do not post to these pages. I will always keep cheerfully replying privately, but the essence of the community spirit here is undermined with each private email. You just like reading, is the standard reply, but without your post, there is nothing to read; perhaps this could be born in mind. Life is very complex. We tend to look at complexity and get more complex......we never seem to look at things simply with our hearts, with our brains, with our whole being. Life, ones attitude of how to approach needs not to be so compartmented. Just a thought. Nature versus man's wanting is why this one does not float seeds. By which I mean, yes float seeds of things if you must, but really, to allow Nature's adaptive hand a chance to show variations from seed, allowing them to adapt to your climate; then you are doing yourself no service by floating, keeping the weak alive, to die later. In the interim, you have used various fungicides to keep the poor little critters going. Because we all do live in different climates, it behooves us to try the strongest strains from seed. This we can do, by sowing direct into a pot, for those of you in colder zones, or directly in-situ for those living in zone 9 and higher.
