I want to talk about another healing method this week. For those of you who may have found the subject of Reiki a bit esoteric for your taste, you had better sit down and take a deep breath because MAP or the Medical Assistance Plan is way out there. I only tried it because I operate on the theory that there is, by and large, no harm in trying things. Much to my amazement, I have had incredible experiences with it.
So how does MAP work? The Medical Assistance Plan involves invoking a committee of Nature Spirits or Spirit healers and working with them as they put their energies to healing you. It's that strange and that simple. There's a book about MAP which is available through a website called Perelandra ( http://www.perelandra-ltd.com/AB1473/web... ) or through Amazon.com. The author, Machaelle Small White, who was "given" this healing system through her Spirit Guides, also works with flower essences and recommends using them. I have not bothered to do so and have still had amazing experiences. As with any healing system which you use, I think it's important to make the process your own. So if you decide to try this process, be yourself. If anything about it feels false to you, or if you prefer another way of doing it, trust your instincts. Experiment. Some people are reluctant to try MAP because it refers to something called the "White Brotherhood." Makes me cringe too, but this White Brotherhood has nothing to do with the Ku Klux Klan and predates it by many centuries. As near as I understand it, it is a collective of Spirit Guides. I don't think of them as the White Brotherhood. I think of them as my MAP team. Just like I don't think of the invocation process as "coning," the term which it's inventor uses. Calling it coning doesn't add anything to the experience, it just complicates it. But enough semantics. Before I go on, I guess I should offer a couple of definitions because the invocation involves calling on a DEVA and on the God Pan. Devas are nature spirits. Check out this website for a better explanation of Devas than I can give: http://www.crystalinks.com/nature_spirit... . It's a pretty nifty site. Before you decide to have a MAP session, you want to create about 45 minutes of private, quite time for yourself so that you can focus your attention on the process you are about to undergo and offer feedback to your team as they work on you. (They really DO respond). I like to have relaxing music on but that is optional. If you decide to use the flower essences, you'll need to get hold of the book for those instructions.
