88. Weapons of Mass DestructionOver the past year we've been brainwashed with the constant repetition of certain phrases used in context of the current ongoing Iraqi war. One phrase in particular is most powerful and threatening in terms of instilling fear into the hearts of all human beings, which I'm sure was intended. The problem is that most think the term "Weapons of Mass Destruction" refers only to bombs and artillery, when in fact there is a much broader scope to consider. Probably one of the most powerful weapons on our planet is the media, any and all forms of it, where anything can be aired or stated, with a certain slant, by anyone of high repute and the masses will accept it as truth. Please keep in mind that I am not on the attack here, I am merely trying to state some facts and encourage vigilance, discernment and always a healthy dose of skepticism, in regard to any matter of public interest and safety. All authority figures, whether it is a best friend, parent, politician, president, priest, teacher, etc., can only share the partial information each is privy to in terms of experience, study, and learned expertise. No matter what is stated, there is always room for question and debate, necessary for any sentient being, in order to personally understand and make intelligent choices using rational thoughts. It is of grave concern and certain possibility that any media source can be manipulated and controlled to reveal only partial truths and information that can mislead the public. One has to ask exactly how much propaganda is fed to the American public in terms of any political, religious, or economic agenda, as is also the case in any other country whose governing bodies decide their agendas. Is it true that "a body never outgrows its need for milk?" I have to ask why so many of us are lactose intolerant then? Why was the cancer cure work of Royal Randolph Rife destroyed, in spite of validation from several A.M.A. members? If there really is a gasoline shortage, then why do the car manufacturers continue to produce gas-guzzling SUVs? Why doesn't anyone address the gargantuan problem of a worldwide water crises brewing on the horizon? Did you know that it's not against the law to mislead or give false information in advertising? Exactly how much of the lottery monies go to education, and if so, why are our schools still having budget problems and cutbacks? Does anyone really check to see if and how much some corporations actually donate to philanthropic organizations, when in fact their employees aren't receiving all the benefits to which they are entitled? Why do the rich get better tax breaks than the middle class and exactly who is doing all the work? These are but a few of the endless questions that all of us should be asking, with expectation for some logical answers; and we should keep asking until we can help participate in the design of some solutions to the existing dilemmas.
