Suppose you have entered into an age gap relationship or you are complemplating one. Now you have doubts, questions, and think you are the only one in this type of relationship. What do you do? Where do you go for answers without feeling even more insecure?
There are times outside advice is necessary. Rather than go to someone who may or may understand your unique situation or risk being ridiculed, the next best place to go is the neighborhood library and/or bookstore for materials written by experts on this subject. While our friends and family mean well, unless they have personal experience with this type of relationship, they are not always the best place to go looking for help. And as many of you know, not everyone is supportive when they learn of your relationship. So that means floundering and possibly damaging your relationship without some solid material from which to learn from. Here are what I consider to be some of the best materials available on the subject. Despite the specific titles, each one of these has common areas that both types of age gap relationships can benefit from. Loving A Younger Man by Victoria Houston Houston herself is married to a younger man. This book covers every aspect of the older woman/younger man relationship. While this book is no longer published, it can be found at used bookstores and online through amazon and Barnes & Nobel. Younger Men are Better Than Retin A by Allia Zobel, Cliffe Carle Younger Women-Older Men by Beliza Ann Furman Age Different Relationships: by Jack Mumey & Cynthia Tinsley Finding Happiness With an Older or Younger Love There are also some great fiction books available as well as movies that depict age gap relationships and all they encompass. One such book is How Stella Got Her Groove Back by Terry McMillan which is also available on video. Any search engine will provide site reviews of this movie if you care to check it out. I personally recommend anyone in an age gap relationship view this movie as it address's most common issues a couple face from both the male and female perspective very effectively. (McMillian is married to a much younger man herself.) While you can gather incite into age gap relationships by reading, that still leaves some feeling pretty insecure. If that pertains to you, then your next option is to join one of the online support groups where others like yourself share their similar experiences and can offer solutions. Within these support structures you will find people from around the world from every type of background and every career type. You will discover common ground by which you can, perhaps for the first time, feel at home in your relationship and begin to grow together as a couple. To chose the support structure best suited to your tastes, check out the links section along with the many online articles available. Go To Page: 1 2
