How did you decide on the title?
The title came to me as I wrote the book. I noticed that as I wrote, I was moving from one degree of grace to a higher degree of grace with God and I wanted my readers to experience the same joy. If you've never written a book before, how did you know what constitutes a novel? I didn't. I have never read a book on writing or taken a class. I do not know style, timing or flow, but I do know that people who have read my novel including best selling authors have loved it. How did you know when to end the book? Did you use any working examples or author references? I don't mean to be flippant, but I knew because it was done. There was nothing more to add. No I never used any examples or author references. Did you receive any encouragement or tips from authors? I received encouragement from many authors in my on-line groups. They have been instrumental in giving advice, support and motivation. Did you submit your books to any agents or publishers? Yes, I did and the conclusion was always the same. "You are an excellent writer, but your novel does not fit with our current list. We would not know how to begin to market it." Why did you choose to self-publish? No one wanted to take a chance on me, so I did. After all, God who is both author and finisher directed me. Did you come up with the book cover design or the artist? An artist by the name of Lydell Jackson designed my cover. I wanted a book cover that was also a work of art. The cover depicts inner and outer conflict and the disparity we experience as a result. What process did you take to publish this book? I had my novel professionally edited, read by other writers and literary experts, and I used Lightning Source as my printer. However, Phoenix Color will do my next printing. Did you do any market research before you began or just walked out on faith? A little of both, but it has been mostly faith. God never finishes with a loss and just as He guided me in writing, He will guide me in marketing. What theme do you portray in your writings? My theme is about relationships, the choices we make and how they are affected by our self-esteem.
