Juneteenth was released mid-June and has recieved rave reviews by Toni Morrison, who deems it as a "majestic narrative concept." Many critics worried if it would pan out to be simply a concept.

It is rumored that Morgan Freeman as having an interest a starring role of the screen adaptation in collaberation with Quincy Jones and David Marnet.

Since it's release, Juneteenth has gained widespread acceptance and favorable reviews. In other words, Ralph Ellison has done it again.
