1. Virtual charters actively negate the elements of educational self-reliance and teaching responsibility that blacks homeschoolers assume upon themselves by once again creating an environment ripe for blame games and finger pointing.2. Virtual charters still do not address the need for a fundamentally sound and well-rounded black history and multicultural curriculum. 3. As virtual charters are publicly funded, the all-important issue of unequal resource and material allocation results. As represented in public schools today, with primarily black and inner-city schools receiving inferior texts and materials than suburban and predominantly white schools, unequal resource allocation may be replicated on the virtual charter level.4. Virtual schools do not eliminate the element of racism that is experienced in various forms by students and parents. 5. Virtual charter schools are not set out nor are equipped with helping parents significantly reduce the achievement gap.Tune in next week as I tackle the issue of educational self-reliance and how homeschooling helps black families break free from the perpetual cycle of unhealthy reliance and blind dependence on others to teach their children.
