Learning: Not Always In Books

For more information on birding in your area, visit these sites:

National Audoban Society: http://www.audubon.org

Cornell's Ornithology Lab: http://birds.cornell.edu

In sum, there are a variety of ways to teach your child. By using birding as a learning tool, your child will learn the essentials about birds. But, it is then time to get books to delve further into the study of birds.

As a homeschooling parent, recognize that learning takes place all day and in most everything we do. Teach your child to observe. It will give him a foot up when it comes time to read about what he's just experienced.
