The final step in the process of creating a website is to drive traffic to it. After all, what is the use of creating a site if it will receive little to no page views? Most companies and organizations pay for search engine submissions. We have found that this is both unnecessary and a waste of money. Visit sites such as http://www.addme.com or http://www.addpro.com. These sites allow you to submit your site to search engines for free. It is highly recommended that you manually submit your site on Google http://www.google.com/addurl.html and Yahoo, https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/express/intro/ directly for free. You may also submit your site to All the Web at http://www.alltheweb.com/add_url.php . These search engines we have found to be the best with Google leading the pack.
Home school and educational websites also offer the opportunity to submit your site to be included in their database of home school sites. Here is a list of some home school sites that welcome site submissions:
Adding your site to these organizations' home school lists will also get your website indexed into search engines. Getting indexed in search engines allows people to find your site based on select key words the "spiders" read on your site when they peruse it. The more that your site is indexed the better chance of people finding it. The more that African-American homeschoolers create websites for their personal home school page or specifically for their home school group or organization, the better united and networked our home school community will be. Visit these sites for ideas and inspiration. Heritage Homeschoolers http://www.heritagehomeschoolers.homeste...
