Creating African-American Home School Support Groups

State Support Groups
If homeschoolers would like to create an organization on the state level, it is highly recommended that a website be created in order to better facilitate networking and dissemination of information on a larger scale. Read this article for tips on creating a website for a home school group or organization: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/1765... Be sure to create a site where the information and mission statement of the group is plain to see and to understand. Be certain to provide contact information and local contacts throughout the state if they are available. One may also find it useful to provide an online newsletter, suggestions for field trips and overall home schooling information relevant to the state.

In increasing numbers, the African-American community is creating a new mass movement where education is key and the number one priority in the lives of their families. Support for these families, therefore, is imperative to the success of home education in the African-American community.
