Lest We Forget: HIV/AIDS in the African American Communitysimple layer of latex can save someone's life. Where are our African American stars, athletes and entertainers on this subject? Where are our political leaders? Do they not care that we are dying out? The stigma surrounding homosexuality in the black community has lingered too long. While I applaud those, like Arsenio Hall, who has worked to educate the community about HIV/AIDS, we need more high profile people like him to continue to reach out. AIDS education needs to be a part of everyone's life. The African American community can be silent no more.
