Internet References vs. Library References

As a Library and Information Science graduate student taking a core reference course this semester, I have a new appreciation of the criteria for evaluating both printed and electronic reference sources. Reference librarians are discovering today, that Internet sources may be the preferred reference source for some types of information.

The types of reference sources the Internet is good at delivering:

Timely information, such as that presented in online newspapers, such as the The New York Times can't be printed and distributed as fast as it can be edited and uploaded.
