Dream to Reality

Continuing with last month’s theme of living your dream… Once, not all that long ago, I had a dream about completing my education. I took a step, and then another, toward placing myself in a situation where I could realize my dream. The dream is about to become real. After graduation, I hope to work on my masters degree, perhaps on a fellowship. My next article will have links to some helpful web sites that can help adults that are considering returning to college start taking steps. You can use the Internet to access information that once was available only through snail mail. A good tool for researching adult learning is the Adult Learner Library, part of the National University Library System's well-organized resources. This resource has subject guides especially for adult learners, guidance for writing a research paper or thesis, and career information. I recommend browsing the takeAclass web site for adults to looking for continuing education and self-study courses. The web site, formerly MyBookworm.com, has a database of courses ranging from professional development to one-days courses in the recreational arts.
