Many older adopted children have gaps in their baby year and toddler-hood. They are deficit when it comes to hugs, embraces, games, bottle feeding, singing, and more. These gaps need to be filled. Find as many opportunities as possible to allow you and your child to interact like a new parent and child.
Nursery rhymes
No matter what age your child is, get a nursery rhyme book, and a children's song CD. Sometimes it's easier for new parents and children to be silly and affectionate when they're regressing.
