M is for Mars Rock Named Adirondack

The good news now is that Spirit's companion rover, Opportunity, has successfully landed on the other side of Mars, and NASA expects Spirit to be back to normal soon. So, those images of "Adirondack" may still yield more information. See the Jan. 30 press release here: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/newsroom/...

And who knows, maybe Opportunity will find a lake over on the other side that can be named Lake George, as Steve Scoville speculated in his TV report!

For more on Mars and the "Adirondack" rock, see: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/newsroom/... and http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/p...
