Have you visited Suite U yet? I just popped over there to see what courses were in the travel school, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a few that are quite interesting. So, this month, instead of telling you something about the Adirondacks, I thought I'd suggest a few travel-related courses at Suite U that might be of interest.

But just so you Adirondack fans won't feel too left out - it has been snowing up here in the North Country like crazy! So far the snowiest December - beats last year to this date. We had one storm of over 2 feet and another this week with about 16 inches - so needless to say, the skiing is excellent!

So, if you are snowed in like we often are, here are a few courses to take you "away from it all."

Victoria Canada - A Pacific Paradise

This course, by Maureen Fleury, is offered as a Quick Course. Sign up any time here.

Here's what Maureen has to say about the course in her introduction:

Why is Victoria a popular tourist destination?

"Could it be the majestic mountains, the rugged shoreline, the sandy beaches, the mild climate, the British charm or the unspoiled wilderness? Find out why thousands of people visit Victoria every year.

Most people who visit Victoria always include a trip to the better-known City of Vancouver which is a short ferry ride across the Straits of Georgia. Both cities are very much the same. This course will give you the lowdown on what to see and do.

Please let me be your tour guide on your virtual visit!"

Our National Wildlife Treasures

This course, by Wendy Beye, is also offered as a Quick Course. Sign up here.

Since the Adirondack Park is somewhat of a natural treasure itself, this course looked interesting to me. Here's what Wendy has to say: "Have you ever wondered where the birds in your winter yard go when springtime arrives, how animals survive arctic winters, where sea turtles lay their eggs, or what the largest bird in the United States looks like? Find the answers to these and other fascinating wildlife questions as you read and ponder the lessons in "Our National Wildlife Treasures." This course will also guide you to other internet websites for your future exploration, pique your curiosity about wildlife preserves near your home, give you a list of resource books, expand your nature vocabulary, and provide a forum for discussions on how our native wildlife species and their habitats can be protected for future generations."
