Abigail's Adventures -- Looking at My Dreams Through My Child

Every once in awhile, I tell you of an adventure of my daughter, Abigail. I thought this time, I'd let you know a little about her and her personality. I see a lot of myself in her. I think you may see yourself, too!

Abigail's adventures are too numerous to list, but I wanted to update you on her life a little. She is such a joy to us. Abigail is now 5 and is just as hyperactive as ever. She talks non-stop and is more curious than any cat you've ever seen. She won't take the blame for anything - it's always the fault of her brother, sister, mom, dad, grandpa or her imaginary friends.

She has 3 imaginary friends, Sally, Lucy and Jessica, and they have their own adventures. Just yesterday, they were slurped up in Abigail's straw because Abigail thought they would enjoy the ride. Her friends are very tiny, as you can see. They sometimes get lost in the store and we have to find them. I try to keep them in a pocket or purse for Abigail, but they are as adventurous as Abigail is, so they escape at times.

Abigail is bright, quick and into everything all at once, yet she is still a sweet and likeable child. She'll win your heart in one breath and give you her straightforward and maybe tactless opinion in the next breath. She just started kindergarten and loves it. We home school and she's begging me to do more and more. Because we home school, I am able to do lots of activities with her that keep both her mind and body busy. We've just begun, but it seems to be working well.

Abigail has big dreams, even now at the age of 5. As a parent, I don't want to stifle her dreams nor set her up for disappointment. You see, I know about big dreams, I had them as a child, too. I certainly haven't reached many of them, but I didn't know I had the ADD obstacle to overcome. I'm hoping to help her see her obstacles and hurdle right over them so that she can reach the dreams that mean the most to her.

Until next time...
