Guided Reverie - Our Spiritual Transportationflavor first. Savor it, inhale the lovely aroma. When you are ready, bite down on a lemon half, bite a big chunk out of it. It is quite possible that you will snap out of reverie when you do so but that is OK. The experience is complete. Take some time to review the experience. Rank your sensory experiences according to intensity. That is important and valuable information about yourself. We each have a somewhat different ranking. None of us has perfect balance in that area. To some, the feel of the fruit in your hand was the most "real". To others it was creating the image. Some cannot see the lemon at all but have exceptional sense of taste. Others have a highly refined sense of smell. There is no wrong answer here, only the one that is uniquely yours. When you have explored the lemon we suggest another piece of fruit be tried. The strawberry works very well for this training. Use what you learned from your experience with the lemon to explore a strawberry. For those that missed the point, through these exercises, you are consciously defining your mental reality. At least for these beginning exercises, we urge you to develop only desirable experiences. Though we can empower the form and substance of undesirable objects as well, it can be more complex exercise with less controls we can use. Our goal throughout these exercises and in teaching what we have learned is to empower you with greatly improved control over your life, to make you stronger and more capable. Once we have accomplished the ability to use our mental senses it becomes important to validate for ourselves how and why we have this ability and that it is very real and valuable. The secret lies in the awareness that we do not live in or comprehend the physical reality. We truly experience and live in our perceptions of this reality. For some, that is too hard to comprehend or accept but it is a fact of life. From infancy we are constantly expanding our perceptions of reality. It is just too large for any one person to comprehend all of it at any one time. In fact, our drive to grow comes somewhat from the subconscious awareness that what we don't know can harm us. It is down a path we will not be covering in this series but that is what gives power to the concept of magic and magical thinking. One of the definitions of magic is that which we do not comprehend.
