I've Been Framed!

© Jo Murphy

Crash!
Out from the back the sound had come, there was a crash a bang and a groan.
"I've been framed," a voice had rung!
"They are at it again," big sister moaned.
"Why must you fight?" she called as she mustered up as much patience as she could find.
"When mum asked me to look after you,
quite frankly I really didn't mind,
but,
it's the fighting you see that puts me off.
I wish you guys would be more kind!"
"Mutter, mutter, mutter."
Clarissa walks out to the back play area to see what the kids are doing. She is worried they are fighting again and she is just waiting for mum and dad to get home so she can tell them everything! As she opens the screen door she gets a pleasant surprise. Laughter bursts from her lips and a chuckle quickly followed. Harry is standing there with an old cardboard, cut out frame around his neck.
"Pretty as a picture?" he asks.
Relieved, Clarissa starts to play.
"Lookin' cute - lookin' funny.
What a portrait I think you're stunning."
Jack pops his head in.
"I think I am brash
I've come back from the grave
Do you think I look like
- an Indian brave?"
Clarissa decides that she better capture this!
"OK," she says, "It's photo time."
"Get your costumes,
get your clothes
for this photo you are going to pose."
"Yeah," shout the kids as they go off to dress up in the funniest costumes they can find. Pretty soon they are back all dressed up and ready for some action. Using the little digital she got for Christmas she begins.
  • Clarissa points the camera.
  • Click.
  • She shuffles the kids around.
  • Point and click.
  • Click
  • Click
  • Click
Pretty soon the fun is all over.
"How else can we stay happy?" Clarissa thought.
"I know let's have a dance party!"
"Come one, come all," she shouts with glee.
"Let's have a party based on mystery!"
With that the others stream out of the room and come back in different costumes. Clarissa puts the music on. First she plays "Monster Mash" quickly followed by "Purple People Eater." They are having the most enjoyable time

The slide door opens and in walks mum and dad. They are delighted to see Clarissa (in whom they are most pleased) Jack, Jeannie, Harry and Melissa having such fun and getting on sooooo well. No fighting.

Jo,

This sounds like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. Will pass it on to the boy's Mom. A great idea.
