Cartoons To Return To Movie TheatersOther cartoons currently in production include "Daffy Saves Christmas" which envisions good old Saint Nick running the North Pole like a sweatshop, where they even have signs reading LESS NOISE, MORE TOYS. "Reaper Madness" takes the Tweety and Sylvester story and turns it upside down as Tweety's Granny is stalked by none other than the Grim Reaper. Sounds like some wild and wonderful ideas. So besides just getting new edgier cartoons, the most exciting news is that there are efforts underway to bring cartoons back to where they first started ... the movie theater. Hopefully more studios will jump on board, especially Disney, but it's good to see the animated short standard-bearer Warner Bros. being the one to try to get this initiative started. I doubt that the advertising will ever leave us now that movie theaters no doubt like that income, but maybe with some cartoons back, we can get back at least a little bit to the way movie-going used to be. Now if we could only get more drive-ins and old style movie palaces back too. Double kudos to Warner Bros. Let's hope you are starting a trend and a return for movies to their old glamour and magic.
