Well, what an amazing turn of events. After a film awards season which was all over the map, after differing winners and nominees making predicting the Oscar nominations an incredible difficulty, the Oscar nominations announced on Tuesday morning actually fell along much predicted lines. Unlike some in previous years, there were no real major surprises, just a few smaller surprises. Academy President Frank Pierson and last year's Best Supporting Actress Marcia Gay Harden made the pre-dawn announcement this year, the announcement that always officially starts those exciting five weeks called Oscar Season!
