The Youth in Film award went to newcomer Dakota Fanning for I Am Sam.
A special achievement award went to Rick Baker for his make-up design for the reworked Planet of the Apes. And finally this week, the Southeastern Film Critics Association announced their choices for the best of the year, and they also went with Memento as the year's best film, but they also split the Best Director award, going with Peter Jackson for Lord of the Rings.
