Well, thanks a lot, SAG Awards! Not!was not on hand to accept his prize, and I do think this may factor into it ... the Academy voters may see that Del Toro would be an exciting choice, as opposed to Finney snubbing the Academy. Well, thankfully, one sure thing did become even more of a sure thing when Julia Roberts won the SAG award for Best Actress. For the first time during this awards season, Julia really showed some genuine emotion I feel, as I think she realizes what's about to come her way in just over a week. I thought it was interesting in her speech how she accepted this award as some how validating to her that she is a good actress, as she usually doubts herself. I do like Cates's attitude though, that he doesn't think it should be a problem if the show runs that long. He discusses some of that in the April issue of Premiere. I agree, what's really wrong with the show running long? It's the one night of the year when so many people unite to celebrate film ... so let the speeches go on ... better to see those than any other Debbie Allen production number! In other news, more information was announced about the Academy's official pre-show, which for
